Q: Can I have my web site with another company and email with b2bis.com? How does it work?
A: Yes, you web site hosting and email services can be hosted by two seperate companies. Your DNS services need to be set-up so you MX (mail server) records point to our servers.
You will recieve instructions on how to acomplish this with your welcome email.

Q: I have an existing email service provider and want to transfer my email service to b2bis.com, what should I do?
A: To prevent any interuption of you email, simply order your new service with us, and set-up your Mailboxes on our system.
Once you have completed this, inform your DNS provider to change your MX record to point to our servers.

Q: How much disk space with each Mailbox have? What does aggregated disk space mean?
A: Each mailbox ordered comes with a set ammount of diskspace (50, 100 or 250MB).
Aggregated disk space means that each account has a single allocation of disk space from all the Mailboxes you have ordered. e.g. If you place an order for two 100MB mailboxes, you can allocate 150MB to the 1st account and 50MB to the 2nd account.

Q: Can I order more disk space?
A: Additional units of 25MB of disk space can be purchased and allocated to your mailboxes as you see fit.

Q: Do I have to allocate disk space to individual Mailboxes?
A: No, you do not have to allocate diskspace to individual Mailboxes, in which case each mailbox will be counted against your aggregated disk space for the whole account.

 Email Clients
Q: Which desktop email programs are supported?
A: Any email client that conforms to either the POP3 or IMAP4 protocol, such as MS Outlook, Eudora, Netscape Messenger, Mozilla Thunderbird, Mac Mail.
The program must be able to provide SMTP Authentication for sending emails.

Q: What is DNS?
A: DNS is an acronym for Domain Name Service. This service runs on a server and it' main job is to translate Domain Names to an IP Address (Internet Protocol), and vice-versa.
For example. a query to you DNS server for www.youdomain.com will return the IP address of the server hosting your web site.

Q: What is a MX Record?
A: The MX records (Mail eXchange) for a domain defines which servers receive email for your domain.

Q: Can I register a domain name through b2bis.com?
A: Yes, however, you may only register one domain name at a time while signing up for email service.

Q: Can b2bis.com host my DNS?
A: Yes, we can host DNS free of charge for any domain for which you have purchased our email service. We can host DNS for additional domains please see the pricing section for our current rates.

Q: How long does it take for a newly registered domain to become visible
A: It usually takes 24-48 hours for newly registered domains to become fully visible accross the Internet.

Q: How long does it take to update a record on domains you host?
A: Although the change is instantaneous, it normally 3-4 hours to properlly propergate through the internet.
This is largely due to servers caching previous exquiries for DNS records if an effort to speed DNS lookups.
